8x10 Art Print - March Skunk Cabbage - Mixed Media Collage

Artwork Detail:
If you have been in the Pacific Northwest in the late winter/early spring, you have likely come across the strongly scented Skunk Cabbage. Whether you are familiar with this plant or not, it is worth getting to know it better. Found in marshy areas along the west coast, it is one of the very first plants to bloom. It's distinctive smell and flower draw in the early pollinators from the cold - even generating a little heat to melt any snow around the bloom - like a warm pollinator diner. The more I learn about this wild native, the more I love it. And this collage serves as a tribute to this lovely - if misunderstood - plant. Words incorporated read, "More together than alone." and "Spring Arrives".
