Spring 2026 After School Art & Nature Play Dates

Calling all 5-10 year olds who love making things and exploring nature! This spring of 2026 I will again be offering my after school "Art and Nature Play Date Series" at the Mt Hood Town Hall in Parkdale, Oregon.
On Thursdays from 3-5pm, I'll be leading kids through a creative and playful after school series. These sessions will include about half our time outdoors with some free play and some coordinated group games. The second half of class will be guided art classes indoors where we will do projects designed to explore our connections to each other and the natural world. I will plan the art we do for this series and offer structured support and projects.
As in the past, an Early Care option (including bus transport from Parkdale Elementary to the Mt. Hood Town Hall) will be available for this series starting at 2:30pm.

In all of the classes above, attendees will gain experience with mixed media techniques. Emphasis for the classes is on fun, creative play, and creating a supportive group environment. No experience necessary!

Special Invent a Wildflower Kids Class

We'd love for your kiddos to join me and local author Ashley Erdely for a playful, hands-on class exploring wildflowers through science, art, and imagination. Kids will learn the parts of a wildflower and its relationship with native pollinators, examine real flowers up close with hand lenses, and sketch the surprising patterns they discover. Inspired by Ashley’s book, Wildflowers of the Pacific Northwest for Kids, students will invent their own imaginary wildflower, then bring it to
life using drawing, collage, and creative writing. This class is perfect for curious kids who love nature, creative writing, storytelling, and making art. No experience needed—just a sense of wonder! -

Art and Nature Retreats for Adults

I believe we are deeply connected to each other and the natural world. And every now and then, we really need to realign ourselves with those connections and natural rhythms to fully receive the support, wisdom, and guidance of our intuition. This is what I try to create with my retreats - a time for reconnecting with your inner wisdom through nature and creativity. The atmosphere is playful, relaxed, and nurturing. Activities include art making (exploring a wide variety of mediums), rekindling your deep connection with the natural world, meditation/reflection, art journaling, and much more.
Your Instructor
Hi! I’m Jordan Kim and if you choose to take a Found & Rewound class, I will be your instructor. My mission is to create art and experiences that inspire us to honor our connections to each other and the natural world.
I have a BS in biology and two minors – one in chemistry and one in studio art. I also have a masters degree in Environmental Management. Needless to say, I love to learn. I worked as an ecologist for over 15 years while I built my art business on the side.
Art helps me reconnect to the rhythm of the natural world and stay grounded. I would love nothing more than to know that one of my classes or my art helped you feel more attuned to the abundance in your life too. My wish for you is a life filled with sweet simple moments, people you love and a connection to the natural world that supports us all. If guiding you through an experience where you get to reconnect to yourself and engage in some creativity can help make that wish come true – my work here is done.
