Whale Breath - 8x10 Art Print

Artwork Details:
Whales have to come to the surface to breathe because they don't have gills like fish. Their breath is warmer than the air, so it condenses into a cloud soon after being released. It joins other water vapor evaporating from the ocean. Evaporation is the process by which water molecules change from a liquid to a vapor. This is an important step of the water cycle. This collage is of mother and child humpback whales. The baby is releasing a spray of water vapor as it takes a breath. This is the September image found in my 2025 wall calendar. Although it works as a stand-alone image, each design in this collection was created to tell part of a story of how the water on our planet connects us all. This piece incorporates hidden words like, “connection,” “love,” and “evaporation.”
