Artwork Details:
Winter and spring rains create shallow vernal pools. Vernal pools are seasonal depressional wetlands that may be completely dry for most of the summer and fall. Vernal pools range in size from small puddles to shallow lakes. These seasonal wetlands provide critical habitat for numerous rare plants and animals. This piece presents the view of the world looking up through a vernal pool as a mother frog watching over her tadpoles might do. This is the March image found in my 2025 wall calendar. Although it works as a stand-alone image, each design in this collection was created to tell part of a story of how the water on our planet connects us all. This piece incorporates hidden words like, “temporary,” “thrive,” and “growth.”
