Soar Little Cuckoo

You may have noticed it has been quiet around here for a little over a week. Let me explain (and spare you the gory details): caught a cold, so did toddler, double ear infections right before flight, a week of vacation (ahhh) and Bootcamp assignment wrap-up. Phew! In fact, I just submitted the final mock up for our cuckoo clock cell phone case today. It was the first time I have "collaged" solely in Photoshop. I scanned my hand-drawn images (see the sneak peaks I gave you in my previous post), used bits and pieces from other art I have created and handwritten cards, etc. that I scanned in as well. Then I cut and paste with wild abandon! It was a really different way to mix my media and while I was apprehensive about working totally digitally, I was able to do it and learned a lot in the process. I'm not sure that I'm a total convert yet, but may try incorporating more digital media into my work in the future. Nonetheless, it was a fun challenge to try. Here's the finished piece: I'd love to know what you think. I'm thinking I may try some other angles on this theme using some of the many sketches I did as part of this study.
