Hello friends,
Happy holidays to you and yours. As wild and wacky as this year has been, I sincerely hope that you are arriving at the end of it with some optimism for brighter days ahead.
I wanted to start this post by saying thank you. Your support through my first virtual art shows has been absolutely amazing, heartwarming, and overwhelming all at once. I can't tell you how much it means to me and my family. I am beyond grateful.
2020 Gift Guide
So in years' past I have made a holiday gift guide (2019, 2018, 2016) which are all still relevant. And this year, I feel like there might be some better ways to help you find those last minute gifts. If you follow me on Instagram, watch my stories and feed for regular highlights of maker friends and small businesses that I love. You can also find LOADS of fantastic small businesses highlighted this year on the Gorge Christmas Market website.
And of course, I would be honored to support your holiday gifting with something from my shop too.
FREE How to Video - Make a Snowman Collage With Me!
Also on the Gorge Christmas Market website, you can find lots of fun activities for families and kiddos led by locals like me. If you'd like to make this sweet little Snowman Collage, just follow along in this short how-to video and let me guide your kiddos through the process. You can also pair this project with the reading of the book "Snowmen at Night" by Caralyn Buehner, read by Mrs. Cunningham, teacher at Whitson Elementary.
Art and Nature Play Dates - Starting up again!
I am so excited to resume my Art and Nature Play Dates on Wednesdays from 3-4:30pm PST. The classes will resume on January 6, 2021. We had just the sweetest group of kiddos that became regulars this past fall. And I would love to have your 5-12 year old give it a try in the New Year.
Every Wednesday we will meet virtually using Zoom for a creative play date to do a unique art project that incorporates social/emotional learning and lessons on the natural world. You can sign your child(ren) up for one, many, or all of the dates! Each week's project and focus will be different. Every class will use a playful, engaging, and supportive tone. We place the highest value on curiosity, the creative journey, and taking risks over achieving an expected outcome or finished product. Most projects will have some extension component that can be done independently once class is over. Attendees will not know what the project is ahead of time, but can trust it to be a completely unique, fun, STEAM-type creative experience.
If this sounds like a good time to you, you can register and/or get more info right over here.
Best of the Northwest
The Best of the Northwest fall show presented by the Northwest Art Alliance has been extended through tomorrow December 15th! If you have been looking for originals , there are still many available - most of which has not been shown or made available for purchase until now! Here's a direct link to my page if you'd like to check it out.
Thanks for reading through this little update. I am sending lots of love to you and yours for the holiday season. And I join in building collective hope and love for the year ahead.
Stay well! With gratitude and love -
Jordan
