Red-Crowned Cranes

Red-Crowned Cranes

This collage is the October image in my 2024 wall calendar focused on migratory birds of the world.  There are two main populations of Red-Crowned Cranes. The population of Red-Crowned Cranes in Japan is mostly non-migratory, with the race in Hokkaido moving only 150 km to its wintering grounds. The mainland population migrates much further from breeding grounds in in Siberia, northeastern China, and northeastern Mongolia to Korea, east-central China, Japan, and Taiwan.  This collage includes the words “Carry,” and “Grace.”
