This collage is a part of a collection designed for my 2021 wall calendar.  This calendar is unique in that each collage in the collection connects with the others in some way.  If the viewer looks carefully, the images fit together to tell a story of interwoven lives and connection between humans, the landscape, and its other inhabitants. Each piece also works as a stand-alone image.  This collage features a cord of stacked wood alongside a tree with a dusting of snow on the ground.  It seems to be dawn or dusk.  Nearby is a small home with woodsmoke rising from the chimney.  A bird’s nest lies on the ground.  The phrases “rest, held by the earth” and “powerful bonding experience” are incorporated into the image.
