Scientists aren’t sure how migrating monarchs know which way to go, since they only live a few months and none makes the journey more than once. Yet they successfully make 2500 mile voyage from the Great Lakes in Canada to the warm Central Mexican Oyamel fir forests in the Michoacan hills trusting this inner compass. Many words are tucked into the deeply layered body of the monarch itself, and are complemented by the stamped text, “I have everything I need.” This collage is designed to remind us to trust our intuition – even when we feel uncertain of the voyage ahead.
