Fire Flee

Fire Flee
This collage is a part of a collection designed for my 2022 wall calendar. Each collage in this calendar collection connects with the others through a flow of energy. If the viewer looks carefully, the images fit together to tell a full-circle story of interwoven lives and connection between humans, the landscape, and its other inhabitants. Each piece also works as a stand-alone image. This collage depicts a difficult scene of birds fleeing from a wildfire burning through a forest. This is in tribute to all of the wildfires that have been such a part of the lives of west-coast Americans during the past several years. The composition includes a Lao Tsu quote, “New beginnings are often disguised as painful endings.”
