Arctic Terns

Arctic Terns
This collage is the December image in my 2024 wall calendar focused on migratory birds of the world. Every year, Arctic Terns migrate from the Arctic Circle to the Antarctic Circle—a round-trip journey of about 30,000 kilometers. Arctic Terns may migrate farther than any other birds. This species breeds on coasts and tundra of New England, Washington, and Britain northward, and spends the rest of the year at sea. Its migrations take it to every ocean, and to the vicinity of every continent. This collage includes the words “Go out into the world and do incredible things.”
