April Trout Fishing

April Trout Fishing

This collage is a part of a collection designed for my 2021 wall calendar.  This calendar is unique in that each collage in the collection connects with the others in some way.  If the viewer looks carefully, the images fit together to tell a story of interwoven lives and connection between humans, the landscape, and its other inhabitants. Each piece also works as a stand-alone image.  This collage depicts a woman fly fishing with a fly tied from fox fur.  The elusive rainbow trout she is seeking swims just under the surface.  And a mother Swainson’s thrush looks on while gathering grubs for her babies. The words, “Perspective,” “Wonders,” “Connections,” and “Release Everything” are incorporated into the piece.
